2D zoo baby quilt

I finished this quilt earlier this month but I wanted to wait until the recipient had it before I posted it. I made with the 2D zoo and other fabrics from my shop. I love the way it turned out. I especially like all the white in it. I'm really wanting to make a quilt with all solids. Another one to add to the ever growing list!

I quilted it with an allover stipple and bound it with the same green fabric thats on the front.
The backing is the Lolli Dot in sky.

This is the first quilt that I machine stitched the binding on. I was scared to do it, but it turned out so well and it was soooooooo much faster than hand sewing the binding on. I think I will be using that on more quilts.

This post is waaaaayyyyyyy overdue!

I really have no excuse for neglectling the blog for so long. Just busy and lazy. Not a great combo! I know!
But I did finish my zig zag quilt in September and I really like it! My friend let me borrow her walking foot so I could quilt it with straight lines. I echoed the zig zag with white thread. It was made with Mendocino prints from Heather Ross and Kona cotton, though I can't remember the name of the color I used. I guess we can call it dark blue. I also bound it with the same blue. I think it frames it nicely.

The pieced back. Nothing too special.

Folded on the piano bench. After being quilted and washed it measures 58 inches by 48 inches.
I have finished a baby quilt also that I will be able to show later in the week after the recipient receives it. Also in the works is a Christmas tree skit made from this great tutorial and a quilt for my mom for Christmas.

Zig Zag quilt top

Here is my quilt that I want to get finished this month. I finished the quilt top a month or so ago. It is made with Mendocino from Heather Ross. I love it! It turned out smaller than my other throws, but thats ok, because the other 2 throws I have done turned out quite big. So I think it will be ok.

I'm not sure how I'm going to quilt this one. So far I have only done stippling (expect for Jaden's doll quilt). If I do straight lines then I will need a walking foot, which I don't have yet. The one for my machine is quite expensive. I have been waiting to buy one until I can get it on a good sale. But, those are few and far between.
I used Amanda Jeans tutorial for this one and it was nice and easy, although a little time consuming.

Next month, I have, have, have to start my mom's quilt for Christmas if I want to have it done in time. Christmas is really right around the corner now, isn't it? Crazy!
After I finish this, then I will start working on some Christmas things I want to do this year. I promise!

August finish!

I finally finished the old red barn quilt along quilt. Its not my fave but I like it well enough. Kaylee loves it! I'm sure she will the main user of this quilt.

I just did white muslin on the back. Mainly because I didn't want to spend money on it. But white is so pretty! So crisp and clean! I used Michael Miller Disco Dot in flamingo on the binding. I love the fabric but it doesn't work well as a binding. It really should have been a smaller print and darker, I think. I'm still learning!

The size is great! Out of the dryer it measures 56 x 67 inches. Perfect throw size!

My July finish

I think I said in an earlier post that I wanted to finish at least one quilt a month for the rest of the year. Well, this is the baby quilt I was supposed to finish in July, but I think I finished it a couple of days into August. I messed up on a few of my blocks for my Old Red Barn Co. quilt so I used those to make the coins. And I still have more!

The backing is the Amy Butler wallflower in pink.
